    Policy Advocacy


    It is undeniable that there are still many policies that are considered to impede village self-help. At the national level, several sectoral laws and regulations are still not in line with the spirit of the Village Law. At the level of ministerial regulations, some were found to be out of sync between one ministry and another.

    The same thing happened at the district level. There are several regent regulations (Peraturan Bupati) that contradict the higher legal norms. There are also administrative matters attached to regional regulations that do not support the acceleration of village self-help, the formats attached are not implementable at the implementation level.

    The following are some of the activities carried out:
     

    Audience with the Ministry of Villages PDTT Regarding the Harmonization of the Village Law
    Jakarta, 24 July 2019 - IDRAP together with a number of civil society organizations, members of Koalisi Masyarakat Sipil untuk Desa Membangun (KoMasDem), held an audience with the Ministry of Villages PDTT in Jakarta. This hearing took place in the meeting hall of the PPMD Directorate of the Ministry of Village PDTT and was received by the Head of the Basic Social Services Sub-Division, Davrizal Davantino. In this meeting, the results of research conducted in a number of regions were presented which found many obstacles in the field in the implementation of the Village Law (UU No. 6/2014).


    National Seminar on "Strengthening Strategic Partnerships in the Context of Building a Collective Movement for Village Independence"
    Medan, 14 November 2018 - This seminar was held at Hotel Polonia, Medan, North Sumatra. As one of the speakers, IDRAP presented material on the theme "Village Policy Advocacy: Encouraging Village Welfare and Self-Help". IDRAP describes facts on the ground that there are still an obstacle to the implementation of the Village Law (UU No. 6/2014), especially in the region of Southeast Sulawesi. There were four resource persons in this activity, namely: Bahaludin (Director of IDRAP, Southeast Sulawesi), Suryadi (Head of the Sub-Directorate of Management and Technical Assistance, Ministry of Villages PDTT), Sutoro Eko (Chairman of Sekolah Tinggi Pembangunan Masyarakat Desa, Yogyakarta), and Juniati Aritonang (Coordinator JAMSU, North Sumatra).
