    Support for Local Initiatives

IDRAP supports the realization of local community group initiatives while still referring to the Village Development Planning (RPJM Desa) to contribute to the achievement of village visions and missions. Initiatives that are considered strategic (acting locally with global impact) are priority for IDRAP support. With a funding scheme of 50% from IDRAP and 50% from the Village Budget (APB Desa), this scheme is one of IDRAP's strategies in influencing village policies to also prioritize issues that have so far been neglected into the annual village policy (RKP Desa).

The following are examples of local initiative support programs:

Raplantation of Degraded Coral Areas for Local Fishing Ground
Coral areas are one of the supports for the right to food and nutrition for coastal village communities. Even so, often the damage to coral areas is neglected by village policies when this fact is in front of them. Because of this, the initiative of the local community in Lambangi Village (Konawe Selatan District), in Langere Village, Banu-Banua Jaya Village, and Wamorapa Village (Buton Utara District), and in Tampunabale Village (Muna District) attracted the attention of IDRAP to discuss with the village government so that they could include this issue as one of the village's annual policy priorities (RKP Desa). With the support of the village government, the initiative was brought to the village deliberation forum.

Rehabilitation of Degraded Mangrove Areas by Replantion
Mangrove forests are always under threat of illegal logging, both by local residents and residents from outside the village. Even though mangroves have a very vital function for the safety of villagers, especially from the threat of beach abrasion. Besides that, many residents also depend on mangrove forests to meet the nutritional needs of their families and as a livelihood for local residents. Community groups in Matalagi Village and Labuko Village (North Buton District) then took the initiative to rehabilitate mangrove forests in their villages through replanting activities. This initiative received funding support from IDRAP of 50% of the total budget required, the rest being self-help village communities.
